General introduction

The Message board is a ContentForces component that helps keep your website visitors tuned into key company news and information. ContentForces Message Board enables your website visitors to post messages and, as a result, quickly share important market, product or other marketing information or summarize an important company announcement. What is more, posting a new message can optionally trigger e-mails to the predefined list of contacts in the mailing list (ContentForces Contact List) to notify the recipients about the message details. Thanks to this function, The ContentForces Message Board keeps your Intranet/Extranet visitors up-to-date with the latest postings, so that they can acknowledge it and respond to it very quickly.

Website visitor perspective

The overview of messages is located in the navigation (chronological list). If no message is available, the page is empty and the visitor can create the first message (needs to be logged in first).
To add a new message, the website visitor clicks on the "Share information" link/button on the message page.
A new page opens and a form for posting new messages appears.
The visitor can fill in the 'Subject' field and the 'Message' field. The 'Message' field is a text field (acts as a notepad) where text and links can be added.
After submitting, the text automatically changes to fit the general font type and size on a given website.
A new message is then visible on the website in the format: Heading (subject), then name of the user who posted the message (automatically as logged in) and the post date (automatically).
The optional upload field enables uploading images, documents or any other files. These will be available for download from site in the form of links.
