General introduction

The Subscribe Newsletter is a ContentForces component that allows website visitors to leave their own contact details and a request to receive newsletters about a given company or market. Generally, a newsletter is a periodically distributed (via e-mail) publication, containing the information about a particular topic. There is a possibility to have many newsletter topics and the website visitor can subscribe to as many topics as he wants. All subscribers are added to the system database, as well as to the contact lists which are assigned to the newsletter topics. Additionally, the system will store the subscribers data divided into groups by the newsletter topic, instance or the chosen newsletter message type. By offering a newsletter subscription on your website, you are getting the e-mail addresses of your website visitors and afterwards, you have the opportunity to promote your company by sending electronic newsletters. Consequently, your sales team will gather contact information about visitors that are interested in your company, products and services and want to receive information about it.

Website visitor perspective

In order to subscribe to your newsletter, the website visitor needs to fill in his e-mail address on the subscribe newsletter form available on your website, choose at least one topic of the newsletter and the format of the information he wants to receive (HTML, text, PDF or other). Afterwards, he needs to click on the 'Subscribe' button.
The system displays information that an e-mail with a confirmation link has been sent to the given e-mail address. The website visitor has to confirm the subscription by clicking on a link enclosed in the e-mail.
The website visitor is redirected to a 'Thank you for subscribing' page.
There is also a possibility to unsubscribe by clicking a link in every sent newsletter or directly on the website. The system displays the page with the question “Are you sure you want to be unsubscribed from the (name of topic name) newsletter?” and two buttons – 'Yes' and 'Cancel'. The website visitor clicks the 'Yes' button. The system displays the unsubscription confirmation message.

Website manager perspective

Website manager is able to:

Edit data of the users that are subscribed to the newsletter.
Delete newsletter subscribers.
Change the type of information the subscriber receives.
In the future, website manager will be able to export contacts from a specific contact list to a spreadsheet.
