Website manager perspective

  • Media provides an overview of media files with standard information such as the name of the file, its size, full path, owner, date of creation, last edition and a thumbnail preview.
  • The rest of the taxonomy tree is as follows: the files are divided into category folders which have subtype folders which contain files.
Website manager is able to:
  • Quickly browse all kind of files, select and upload these items.
  • Upload a file directly in Media or by using Content Editor component.
  • Upload any single file to the Media. Before upload, website manager specifies if it is a single file upload or a mass upload. If it is a mass upload, then the system will unpack the zip and upload the files inside it. If it is a single file upload, then even if he chooses a zip file the system will not try to unpack it and the file will be uploaded to the Media as a zip file.
  • Every file has its own detail page that, apart from standard information, provides file manipulation options.
  • Renaming uploaded files is used only when the website manager adds a new file. After that, only the parameter name can be edited
  • Uploaded files can be edited. The website manager can change files' parameter names, download availability, the file itself and multilingual status. The file can only be replaced with the same type of file.
  • Remove files from the basket. Files that are removed from the basket have the recycle status in the database, therefore are not visible anymore and all the taxonomies related to it will lose their relations. In addition, the physical name of the file as well as the parameter name is changed.
  • When adding a file in Media and marking the check-box next to the DOWNLOADABLE function, website manager can use the file for publication and all visitors have the possibility to download it. If you don't mark that check-box, downloading should not be possible, but only viewing on the page itself.
  • There is a limit to the size of a single file that can be uploaded through the Media.
  • Create category and sub category folders to place files in as well as delete category folders (move it to Bin with all its sub folders and files). Anything deleted from the basket gets the recycle status in the database and is not visible anymore.
  • Browse the Media items content using filters. Filters will allow to change the Media overview in a way that will display only specific content.
