One major thing to bear in mind during a website implementation is to make finding things quick and easy. In order to simplify of items and services searches on your website, ContentForces offers a customizable search tool that provides clients with the desired flexibility. The ContentForces Item Selector is an easy-to-use selection component which helps the website visitor find the item or service that fits his needs best. By selecting a desired set of features of an item, your website visitor is likely to find exactly what he is looking for. This kind of enhancement made to the website provides your website visitors with more options and, consequently, results in increased customer satisfaction.

Website visitor perspective

The website visitor is looks for an item or service with specific features within a selected Item Group (in case there is only one Item Group no selection is necessary).
The website visitor starts to use the Selector by choosing the values (answers) from the defined fields in the Item Selector. Each time the website visitor makes a selection in one of the fields, the number of matching items is shown.
Below the Selector's fields there is a counter which indicates the number of matching items.
Once the selection is completed (there is no need to select all search options), the website visitor clicks on 'Search', 'Show' or 'Select' button and a list of matching items appears. The website visitor can pick out an item that he would like to review from the list and see its details in the Item Detail page by clicking on it.

Website manager perspective

At the beginning of the implementation process, the website manager creates the Selector form by naming the selection fields and defining the way it will work (also defines answers consistent with item information e.g field name: gender, answers: man/woman).
The results of a selection are generated in the form of an overview of items and leads to the adequate item Detail (results sorted automatically).
Optionally, if the number of matching items equals one, the item detail pages can be displayed instead of the list of Selector results (setup by CF on demand).
Selector operates within one item group (i.e. one item group can have one Item Selector).
In the implementation process, a selection of the type of 'Search', 'Show' or 'Select' button has to be made: whether it can be pressed with all questions answered or if it can be pressed with partially answered questions.
At the beginning of the implementation process there is a choice of question display types for the Item Advisor that offers the following features:

The answers for Item Selector's questions narrow the options for further questions (optional).
