In order to simplify searches of media on your website ContentForces delivers a customizable search tool that provides clients with the desired flexibility. The ContentForces Media Selector is an easy-to-use selection component which helps the website visitor in finding an image, video, audio or document that fits his needs best. By selecting a desired set of features of a medium, your website visitor is likely to find exactly what he is looking for.

Website visitor perspective

The website visitor is looking for a medium with specific features within the selected Media Group (in case there is only one Media Group no selection of group is necessary).
The website visitor starts to use the selector by choosing the values (answers) from the defined fields in the Media Selector. Each time, the website visitor makes a selection in one of the fields, the number of matching media is shown.
Below the Selector's fields there is a counter which indicates the number of matching media.
Once the selection is complete (there is no need to select all search options), the website visitor clicks on 'Search', 'Show' or 'Select' button and a list of matching media appears. The website visitor can choose a medium that he would like to review from the list by clicking on it. Now he can see its details in the Media Detail page (as a Media Detail component).

Website manager perspective

At the beginning of the implementation process, the website manager can define the questions for the Media Selector (consistent with media information).
The results of selection are generated in the form of overviews of media and lead to the adequate Media Detail (results sorted automatically).
Optionally, if the number of matching media equals one, the Media detail pages can be displayed instead of the list of Selector results (setup by CF on demand)./li>
Selector operates within one Media Group (i.e. One Media Group can have one Media Selector).
In the implementation process a selection of the type of 'Search', 'Show' or 'Select' button has to be made: whether it can be pressed with all questions answered or if it can be pressed with only some questions answered.
