General introduction

The Personal Content Block is a ContentForces component that allows an Intranet user to personalize the content of the blocks with the latest links to the pages that are essential for him after logging in. The Personal Content Block show the newest information from the labels (divisions, countries, etc.), chosen by the Intranet user, in one or more blocks. Thanks to the Personal Content Blocks the user can create his own block with information that he finds the most important, without the need to search for them through the whole website.

Key benefits

  • The last information from the chosen labels is presented in the results (ranked by date).
  • It keeps the website visitor updated with the latest information.
  • Very quick access to the information that is important for a user.
  • The Intranet user has the possibility to personalize the information shown in the Personal Content Block.

Website visitor perspective

  • After logging into the Intranet the information about creating a Personal Content Block appears together with the link to the explanation about the functionality of the Personal Content Block. The Intranet user can always read this explanation (by clicking on the link). In order to create a Personal Content Block the Intranet user needs to click on the 'Add' button. After clicking the button, the block with possible labels will appear. The Intranet user needs to choose the most important labels from the given categories. He is also able to select all current labels from one category by checking 'All'. Then the user clicks 'Next' and he is asked to choose the block position. After confirming, the block will display the information from chosen labels. The system displays one personal block. (Look at picture 1)
  • Then, the Intranet user can add more personal blocks by clicking on 'Add' button' and choosing other labels and block position. After confirming system displays two personal blocks. (Look at picture 2)
  • It is also possible to remove the personal blocks by clicking on the 'Delete' button next to a chosen block. The system displays personal blocks without the removed one. (Look at picture 3)

Website manager perspective

  • The website manager is able to assign labels to the particular pages.
  • In the CCMS, the website manager chooses the page from the taxonomy tree, that he wants to assign labels to.
  • When he clicks on the page, it appears and the website manager needs to click on the 'Assign labels' button. (Look at picture 4)
  • All the existed labels appear and the website manager chooses the appropriate labels by checking them. He is also able to check 'All,' this way all existed labels from each category will be checked. Afterwards, the website manager needs to click on the 'Assign' button. (Look at picture 5)
  • Then the page with assigned labels will appear. (Look at picture 6)

Features

While choosing the labels, the following relations are possible: (Look at picture 7)
  • There is always an AND/OR relation between labels from one category. (before integrating, one option (AND/OR) has to be chosen and the relation will be the same for all categories and blocks).
  • There is always an AND/OR relation between different categories. (before integrating, one option (AND/OR) has to be chosen and the relation will be the same for all categories and blocks).
  • All labels from one category (together) can have AND/OR relations to labels from a different category. (before integrating, one option (AND/OR) has to be chosen and the relation will be the same for all categories and blocks).
  • For example, based on the assumption that: Between marketing assets labels there is an OR relation. Between country category and marketing assets labels there is an AND relation. A person’s selection is: Netherlands, Singapore, Dealers. This means he wants to have all pages for Netherlands AND Dealers & Singapore AND Dealers. NOT the pages for Netherlands AND Singapore AND Dealers or Netherlands OR Singapore OR Dealers. (Look at the picture 8, example 1)
The information in the labels is ranked by date.
