General introduction
Image maps are pictures with clickable regions known as "hotspots." They are used to create sensitive clickable images that respond to the area of the image that the visitor clicks on. Consequently, when your website visitor moves his mouse over the image, he will be able to click on its part and be directed to the appropriate subpage. This component is created by a method of superimposing hyperlinks on an image held on a webpage. The image is divided into regions whose boundaries may or may not be visible. For example, a map of a country may be divided into parts (e.g. regions) and may contain links to pages with information on each region.
